| Summary: | Jackomos speaks of inner city Melbourne life for the battling classes when he was growing up in the 1930s, impressions of the Greek and Castellorizan community life in Melbourne, sings a Greek song in the Castellorizan dialect as his father used to sing it, his periods as a boxer and professional wrestler including as a tent fighter with Harry Johns and Jimmy Sharman, how he wrestled as a light heavyweight professional at Melbourne's Town Hall during the period 1956 to the early 1960s, how he became a foundation member of the Aboriginal Advancement League in 1957 and then in their employment from 1965, manager of the Lake Tyers Aboriginal Station for the Aboriginal Welfare Board in 1967, his employment with the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs from 1968-74 then by the Dept. of Aboriginal Affairs from 1975-1990, how from 1968-78 he was the only non-Aboriginal Australian to hold the post of State Secretary of the Federal Council for Aboriginal Advancement and Torres Strait Islanders. Jackomos speaks of his management of the Victorian Aboriginal Football Team and the All Australian Aboriginal Football Team through the 1970s, his insights into Aboriginal community life in Victoria and the growth of the Aboriginal rights movement, his views of the Lake Tyers' settlement, how in 1977 he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study self-help programs among the Apache and Navajo tribes of Arizona as well as the black communities of Los Angeles, Mississippi & New York.

| Biography: | Alick Jackomos was a boxer, professional wrestler. He worked as a public servant for the Victorian Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs, 1968-74, and Commonwealth Dept. of Aboriginal Affairs, 1975-89. He was also an author and historian.
