| Summary: | This interview with Peter Rushforth covers his childhood in Sydney and Morpeth, NSW; family background; memories of the Depression; work as a typist at Fox Films; joining the army in 1940; war service in Darwin and Malaya; internment in Changi and work on the Burmese railway; return to Sydney in 1945; art studies in Melbourne; meeting his wife Bobby; establishing potteries in Sydney; the birth of daughters; teaching at the National Art School; visiting Japan in 1963 where he met and worked with master potters; philosophy of ceramics; techniques used in his potting; move to the Blue Mountains where now lives and works. The final tape is a recording of a lecture Peter Rushforth gave about his work in November 2005.
