Beatrice Davis talks about her family history; recollections to do with working at Aungus & Robertson and of established authors of the time such as Douglas Stewart, Elizabeth Hughes, Rosemary Dobson; major changes in publishing policy at A & R; mechanics of book publishing; her impressions of various Australian authors and poets such as Miles Franklin, Morris Miller, Norman Lindsay, Thomas Keneally, David Ireland, Xavier Herbert, Hal Porter, James McAuley, A.D. Hope, Judith Wright; take over of A & R by the Barton-Tjuringa group in 1970 and the resultant organisational changes; leaving the firm and work with Thomas Nelson.
