David Caro, physicist, is interviewed by David Ellyard for his book about Sir Mark Oliphant. David Caro speaks about early life, being a non-cricketer but playing against the Birmingham cricket team. He also speaks of attending Melbourne University for 1 1/2 to 2 yrs before going of to war, being in the radar unit, the abvious connection having spent 4 1/2 yrs fiddling with valves and odds and ends, going back to Melbourne to finish the course after the war and finished off majoring in physics, doing Masters Degree in electronics, winning a scholarship to England and working with Mark Oliphant. Mark Oliphant being a man of strong ideas, the R & F System, Syncrotron, the syncrotron disaster in 1950?
