Select papers of Ernest Westlake including: six notebooks containing stories told by Tasmanians, etc.; letters and notes on Truganini and other Tasmanian Aborigines; correspondence re the Westlake collection of stone implements, 1916-1940; cards with descriptions and drawings of Tasmanian items; correspondence with his children Aubrey and Margaret from Tasmania, 1908-1910 describing voyages, people, scenery, field trips, etc.; notes and cuttings re Tasmanian Aborigines; lists of words and language notes; extracts from "Records relating to Aborigines" in the Government Record Office, Hobart; other correspondence re Tasmanian trips; and biographical notes on Ernest Westlake by Aubrey Westlake, 1976.

Scientist. In 1908-10 he travelled to Tasmania and made a collection of stone implements which are now in the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford.
