Lucy Guerin born in Adelaide, talks about her family background and early life; her early training in ballet; her abilities as a young dance student; taking classes with Rex Reid; studying at the Centre for the Performing Arts (CPA); her teachers at the CPA; studying the Graham and Cunningham techniques; being part of the choreographic process and her first piece; moving to Sydney; the lack of independent dance culture in Australia at the time; working with Russell Dumas and the Dance Exchange; the influence of Dumas on her future; travelling to New York and Japan with Dumas; moving to New York with Rebecca Hilton; joining Dance Works in Melbourne; her success as a performer; the self obsession of a dancer; her choreographic development; her reasons for returning to New York; life in New York; Bebe Miller; Tere O'Connor; visiting France after receiving an award; the reception of her works, 'Solemn pink' and 'Incarnadine' in France; touring as a result of the French awards.
