Father Cassian Double, a Franciscan priest, speaks about his move to Australia from New Zealand in 1944 and his first contact with Indigenous Australians on being posted to Palm Island, Qld. in 1962. He remained on Palm Island until 1967 when he moved to Townsville before returning to Palm Island from 1969 until 1973. He describes the living conditions on Palm Island and discusses the issue of child removal.
