- Concerning the raising of two regiments, under William Shirley and Sir William Pepperrell, to relieve the soldiers at Louisburg.
- Dated 1745 by Bristol and Ford. However, since Pepperrell was not made a baronet until August 1745, the letter was apparently written in February 1746, according to the new style calendar.
- Possibly printed by John Draper who was the official printer for Governor Shirley and the province of Massachusetts in 1746.
