- World map illustrating Buddhist teachings. The greater part of the space is taken up by what was supposed to be India. Europe is depicted as a group of small islands and South America as an island lying to the south of Japan. Africa does not appear at all. Relief shown pictorially.
- Mounted cover title.
- At head of title: Bankoku shōka no zu.
- Wood block print.
- Includes in upper left margin a bibliography of 102 works consulted in the compilation of the map.
- In lower left and right margins is the text in Chinese with Japanese reading marks, giving the theoretical explanations of the map and the ideas it applied -- cataloguer.

Ramming, (1954), "Remarks to reproduced Japanese maps", Imago Mundi, v.10, p. 128. The map reproduced as fig. 2, facing p. 124. Map is described as " ... prototype of Buddhist world maps." (p.124) "... whose main distinctive feature is their completely unscientific character." (p. 128).
