Peter Anson gives a brief outline of the history of the Broken Hill Repertory Society (BHRS), and of his mother's involvement with the Society; Kay Anson talks about June Gough (Bronhill) and sharing the same music teacher (Mrs Morgan) in Broken Hill; her recollections of music lessons and listening to June Gough who had the lesson before hers; the young June Gough; Mrs Morgans' contribution to the cultural life of Broken Hill; Peter describes Broken Hill as it was in 1948; going to rehearsals and performances of the BHRS with his mother; Victor Bindley creating a singing role for June Gough in the BHRS production of "Cuckoo In The Nest"; her participation in "Murder in the Ministry"; the BHRS not producing musicals at that time; Kay recalls that the Broken Hill Philharmonic Society was run by Mrs Morgan, but that it did not produce musicals; Peter recalls the first musical he can remember seeing in Broken Hill; other musical organizations in Broken Hill.
Peter Anson discusses attending a benefit concert held in the town to raise funds to send June Gough overseas, after she had won the Sun Aria Competition; his recollections of this concert; Kay Anson recalls a street parade in the early 1950's to celebrate June Bronhill's return to Broken Hill after her overseas successes; Peter recalls that June Bronhill appeared in a production of "A Country Girl" while she was attending school in Broken Hill; Kay recalls the circumstances in which she and Peter met; her own involvement with BHRS; Peter covers more on his mother's involvement in the BHRS; performing in a play produced by Marion Henry; Kay recalls how she became involved in the BHRS; following their marriage moving with Peter to Adelaide to allow him to attend theological college prior to entering the priesthood; becoming involved with a repertory society in McGill, Adelaide; Peter lists some of the plays produced by the BHRS; Cliff Neate; the play "The Woman" produced by his father George Anson
