- "Painting of General Gordon Robley's famous pen and ink life sketch of the well-known old Chief of Motuhoa Island, Tauranga tribe, Ngaiterangi, by T. Ryan. General Robley painted a large copy which he presented to King Edward VII on the very day our King George V was meeting the Maori people at the great Roturoa Tournament, June 14th, 1901. General Robley received a gracious autograph of thanks."--Inscription below painting.
