Eric Willmot, Principal of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies, spoke about the fight for Aboriginal land rights and the feelings of his people towards the bicentenary. He pointed out that two important Aboriginal figures, Pemulwuy, a black leader beheaded in 1802, and David Uniapon, who invented the power-driven mechanical spearing hand-piece, had been left out of the official history books.
