MS Acc03.205 comprises papers documenting Keon-Cohen's legal and academic career. The bulk of the papers are law case records largely relating to native title claims, including research material, correspondence, working files, affidavits and other witness statements, submissions pleadings, transcripts and judgements. Examples of cases are: Wik, Yorta Yorta, Waanyi, Stolen Generation, Keep River, Ward, Chan. In addition to case materials, there are article drafts, newspaper clippings relating to cases & published newsletters (66 boxes, 2 fol. boxes).
The Acc05.063 instalment includes papers on Wik and Yorta Yorta cases, migration cases, legal history, Australian Society of Labor Lawyers, East Timor Evidence Project, mandatory sentencing, Native Title Service, and lecture notes (5 boxes, 16 cartons).
The Acc10.117 instalment comprises papers documenting Keon-Cohen's legal and academic career. The bulk of the papers are law case records largely relating to native title claims, including research material, correspondence, affidavits and other witness statements, submissions pleadings, transcripts and judgements. Not all case records relate to cases in which Keon-Cohen was directly involved; some were accumulated due to their contextual significance to later cases. Examples of native title cases are: Ward, Kruger, Yorta Yorta, Wongatha, Yanuru, Wik, Gove and Macarthur River.
Cases relating to other areas of law include Levy (Victorian duck shooting case), Stolen Generation (compensation), Yusuf and Israelian (refugees), Save Albert Park (Grand Prix) and Garry David (preventive detention). In addition to case materials, there are articles, conference papers, lecture notes and draft chapters of books on law subjects written by Keon-Cohen, papers documenting research trips to the United States, Canada, Brazil and South Africa, and papers relating to the Australian Law Reform Commission. There is a small number of sound recordings and digital items amongst the papers (168 boxes, 1 fol. box).

Bryan Andrew Keon-Cohen has been a barrister since 1982. His legal practice has covered most jurisdictions in Australia, with the bulk of his cases relating to native title (including Mabo) and a smaller component dealing with migration matters. Keon-Cohen's professional roles have included Australian Law Reform Commission officer in 1979-1981, barrister of the Victorian Bar, 1982-1996, Queen's Counsel of the Victorian Bar from 1996-2009, and principal legal officer of the Mirimbiak Nations Aboriginal Corporation, Melbourne, 1999-2001.
