- Summary:

The last known captive thylacine died in the Hobart Zoo in 1936. It is possible that the thylacine that appears in this lantern slide is a female, the last surviving thylacine outside of Australia, that died on 9 August 1931 at the London Zoo, where she had been on display since 26 January 1926.
