Williams was a very energetic Queensland Supreme Court Judge, involving himself in the Queensland Parole Board, the Royal Commission Inquiry into Drugs 1977-80, the International Narcotics Control Board Vienna, the Anti-Cancer Council, the Queensland Playground and Recreation Association, and chairing the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games and Expo '88, to list only his principal achievements.
