MS Acc11.055 comprises comprises original manuscript music scores, the majority of which are compositions by Mendoza. The main librettist is John McKellar. Included are the script and lyrics for a work titled "Mistress Money", which is accompanied by a poster advertising a production of the work at the Phillip Street Theatre (undated), and the draft score of one of Mendoza's compositions titled "The Vatican" (approximately 1964) (3 boxes).

Pianist, composer, drama teacher and theatre director. Doris Rosetta Elizabeth (Dot) Mendoza was born at Perth, Western Australia in 1899. Mendoza learned the piano at an early age and from the age of seven accompanied her father, a tenor, in concerts. Later she won a scholarship to study music at the Melbourne University Conservatorium. She was associated with the Minerva Theatre in Sydney before joining the Phillip Street Theatre in the mid-1950s where she was composer, performer and director. In Sydney she became well-known also as a voice and drama teacher. Mendoza received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1985 for her contribution to the performing arts.
