The print depicts a young boy posing and pretending to be the famous Chinese legendary figure, Guan Yu, holding a book of folk tales and a fan. Two demons wearing kimono standing behind him, and one of them holding a huge machete. The young boy is 'Kintarō', one of the most wel-known and wel-depicted child figure from a Japanese folktale, himself.
