MS Acc13.133 comprises an unpublished 440 page photocopied typscript manuscript titled "The New Guinea newsman" describing daily life in Papua New Guinea under Australian administration and detailing interactions and occurances between locals, plantation operators, merchants, missionaries and different ethnic groups. Included in the collection is a handwritten note by Ray McEwan, Simpson's neighbour, describing Simpson's life; a print out of the eulogy read at Simpson's funeral; correspondence between Paul Playoust and Peter Robinson, editor of "Wheels" magazine, regarding Simpson; photocopy of Missionary of the Sacred Heart's 125th Anniversary in Papua New Guinea; 11 pages of photocopies from "Just a chattel of the sale: a mostly light-hearted retrospect of a diverse life" by Peter Golding"; newspaper clipping of review of "New Guinea days" by Michael O'Connor; print outs of maps of Papua New Guinea; colour photograph of Simpson at an Anzac Day parade (1 packet).
