- The Tasmanian government commissioned Henry Frith in September 1864 to photograph the indigenous Palawa people from the Oyster Cove settlement in his Hobart studio. Jane Lydon's book 'Calling the shots' (2014) suggests that Frith's sister the artist and photographer Letitia Davidson may have been the colourist of this photograph.
