- Japan : [not published] , [1780-1830?]
- 1 scroll : coloured illustrations ; 28 x 260 cm
- Notes:
-
- Drawn on very fine thin Japanese papers. Basically in black and white. Seems like a preparatory drawing. Very delilcate, fine drawing of horses. Papers are attached to each other. Some preservation work has been done.
- The style of drawing resembles to the paintings of Tohaku Hasegawa. Tōhaku (1539 – March 19, 1610) was one of the masters of Japanese painting and founder of the Hasegawa school of Japanese painting during the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Kanō Eitoku is another master of the same period whose schools might be related to this painting. Needs further investigation.
