- Summary:
-
This is the 20th of the Labyrinth Press books, printed on a very soft paper, and held together in an elegant Japanese binding, with the sheets folded at the fore edge and sewn at the back edge. As Frédérique Martin-Scherrer notes, the book design allows the printed content to traverse the outer folds, with lines of electroencephalography (EEG) recordings of the artist's heart and brain continuing from page to page, interspersed with the stanzas of Baudelaire's poem. The long tall narrow page format also matches the form of the poem.
- Notes:
-
- "To Maxime du Camp"-Title page verso.
- English translation of the poem "Le voyage" from Charles Baudelaire's Les fleurs du mal.
- "Translation by Geoffrey Wagner, four colour lithographs by Petr Herel, printed by Theo Tremblay in Bungedore (NSW), Australia. Text set in Baskerville 11 Monotype by Thierry Bouchard and printed on his presses in Losne (Côte d'Or), France. The edition of 14 copies has been printed on Chinese Village Paper, numbered I to XIV, and signed by Petr Herel and Thierry Bouchard, the 17th January, 2002."-Colophon.
