- "Experimental printing"
- Printed as part of USGS research into photomechanical methods of slope map production. In 1970 a 1:24,000 scale map of Mt Sizer, California was printed. In 1972 two further maps were produced: another 1:24,000 map, of Lancaster, Ohio, with 4 slope zones, and the 1:250,000 sheet for Columbus, Ohio, with 5 slope zones. Both maps were photomechanically generated, and portray the flattest zone in yellow, and the steeper zones in various tones of brown.
