- The foundation stone was laid 21 June 1920 on Capitol Hill, Canberra, for the Capitol building (which was never built) designed by Walter Burley Griffin. The foundation stone was subsequently removed and relaid in 1983 in the new Parliament House. The dot in the letter 'o' marks the axis of Burley Griffin's plan of Canberra.
