- Summary:
-
Moseley speaks of her early life with her parents and extended family around the Finke River area. She was separated at around age 7 from her mother and stepfather while they were visiting Alice Springs, and was placed at St. Mary's Anglican Hostel. Her parents remained in Alice Springs, to watch over her, rather than return to their own country. Moseley describes living conditions at the Hostel, where she remained until age 15. She was fostered out for a couple years with a family in Melbourne, with whom she is still in contact. After training as a nurse in Melbourne, Moseley returned to Alice Springs at age 20 to reunite with her family. She is currently an Aboriginal hospital liaison officer at Alice Springs Hospital, and is involved with Link-Up. Moseley gives her views on separation practices.
