Rendall Wagner of Newcastle is a singer/songwriter and devoted father, originally from the Blue Mountains. He moved to Newcastle a few years ago temporarily halting his promising musical career. Ren is now undertaking a Bachelor of Music/Teaching degree and re-igniting his musical career.

CLASSICAL
As you've probably noticed Ren shares the same surname of the famous classical composer, although he's no relation. A versatile musician and composer, Ren writes pop and hard rock songs as well as classical music for chamber ensembles. He goes under the moniker of Rendall D. Wagner for his classical compositions so as not to be confused with the world famous Austrian composer. A piece called The Majestic Meadow is the first of a body of work for string quartets Ren is currently writing. It was performed and recorded for the first time by The Soul Essential String Quartet of Brisbane in June 2004. Writing music that is suitable for film scores, Ren wants to challenge chamber musicians with his future works that encapsulate beautiful melodies and intricate musical techniques.

ROCK
Rendalls music has variety and appeal for young and old. His current CD “Aum” is testament to his versatile and diverse style. His recording of "YOU'VE GOT TO HAVE LOVE" has been mistaken for a 'Bryan Adams' single. He has also won an award for best song on 'The Australian Songwriter Show', 100.1 North FM Community Radio with a tape demo of "SET ME FREE". His songs range from one end of the rock spectrum to the other and he performs music with classical, dance and hard rock influences as well as ground-breaking NEW sounds. Some Wagner lyrics deal with current political and controversial issues like “Land of Sunshine” written about the power struggle of Australian aboriginals; the yet-to-be released "Men of Hope" specifically about the mental anguish of Vietnam veterans (of which Ren has first hand experience - his father being one); and "Rosemary", written on Anzac Day after a “dawn service” about the Australian blood spilled at Gallipoli.

CURRENT MOVEMENTS
Ren is currently in the studio working on the second rock CD, entitled “The Art Of Illusion” promising incredible eastern and world music influences. More than just a solo effort, Ren has collaborated with a brilliant sound technician and bassist, James Beech and guest percussionist Darius Irvin to produce a sound that will break new ground in Australian independent music. His debut CD “Aum” is available at Street Beat and Sound World music stores in Newcastle or from the official website www.rendallwagner.com. LIVE
Ren is currently forming a live band to launch his second CD in early 2005. In the meantime fans and music aficionados will totally love the beautiful melancholy sounds of DyMyR.

Known for his distinctive guitar style Ren has teamed up with award winning artist DyMyR (ex Lavender Hour & The Newcranes) to help produce the second DyMyR CD “Open City” (in post-production September 2004).
