Description
According to evidence given at the trial, Ned Kelly left the hotel that was under siege at Glenrowan during a continuous volley of shots from the police. He lay at a some distance from the hotel in the direction of the Warby Ranges. He was bleeding freely from a shotgun wound. Shortly after dusk he approached the Wangaratta side of the hotel from the direction of the Warby Ranges and several policeman fired at him. It was not long before the outlaw, ironclad and helmeted, and firing under great difficulty because of the wound, was captured.
