Description
Drawing of Brisbane theatre designed by Andreas Stombuco and erected in 1887- 1888. The building had a frontage of 66 feet and a depth of 248 feet and divided into three floors. The architecture of the front is a combination of the Renaissance and Corinthian styles. The building contractors were O'Keefe & Co, with the decorative work done by James Lang & Co and accomadation for at least 2200 persons was allowed for. Her Majesty's Theatre was demolished in 1985 (Information taken from P. Giorgi, Stombuco : the building of Brisbane in the 19th century, 1998).
