PARROTT.--In sad but loving memory
of my dear husband and daddy. No. 1474,
Private Albert W. 'Parrottl. original 35th
Battalion (Bndsmann ), who died so sud-
denly at Adamstown, 16th April, 1919, with
his infant babIy on his chest, after being
invalided home, after long suffering in
hospitals in France, England, and home,
at the end blindness, buried Good Friday.
He bade no one the last farewell
Nor knew the end was near
He leaves behind some aching hearts
that loved him very dear.
I often sit and think of you dear husband,
And think of how you died
And the cruel grief I had to bear
On that sad Eastertide.
No time can heal the aching heart,
nor from my memory tear
The face, the form I loved so well,
Twill dwell forever there.
Some others may forget you, Albert,
Life's joys will kill their pain,
But the vacant place that''s in my heart,
Nothing can fill again
To-day as we look at your photo,
aA soldier so young and so true
Do you know that our hearts are aching,
And longing, dear daddy, for you.
You fought in the battle, and we know
That you fought bravely and true
You fought for your home and your country
And the flag of the red white and blue
