  2. SATURDAY'S DEMONSTRATION IN THE DOMAIN.

    Daily processions have become a feature of the strike in Sydney. Nearly all of these culminate in the Domain, where the huge crowds that assemble—sometimes as many as 100,000 men and women—are addressed by the union leaders. On Saturday the Seamen's Union joined in the strike, and as a result its members were given pride of place in the processions. All the speeches delivered afforded additional evidence that the aim of the organisers of the strike is not so much to kill the card system as to smash the National Government. The resolution passed by the huge crowd on Saturday did not even mention the card system. It stated: " I his meeting, recognising that the unionists now on strike are resisting the unscrupulous efforts of the National ... [ILLUSTRATED]
