  2. THE DEACONESS INSTITUTE'S NEW HOME FOR CHILDREN AT STRATHFIELD.

    For more than 60 years the Deaconess Institute (Church of England) has conducted a home for children. In the home at Marrukville 46 children are in response. This building ten into disrepair, and recently the council of the institute purchased Agincourt, in Albert-road, Strathfield, which was once the of Mr. washington Soul. The price was £8000. Of this amount the Deaconess Institute has paid about half. An appeal is now being made for contributions, with the object of wiping off the debt on the building and making necessary alterations to fit it for its new purpose. The hon.
