    Flying high and storng the Vickers Viny aeroplane manned by Capt. Ross Smith and his companions crossed the coast of Australia at 20 minutes past 3 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, December 10. Less than half an hour later it had landed on Australian soil at the Fannie Bay aerodrome, and the flight from London to Australia—the longest in the history of the world—was over. Adelaide takes special pride in the epoch-making flight, because Capt. Ross Smith, Lieut. K. M. Smith (his older brother], and Sgt. W. H. Shiers are all natives of this State.
