Biography
Ron Barassi was a VFL player and VFL/AFL coach. He played with Melbourne from 1953 to 1964 and was captain from 1960. He was appointed captain/coach of Carlton in 1965. He subsequently coached North Melbourne, Melbourne and Sydney. He is the only man to have played/coached in 10 VFL/AFL premierships. After retiring from coaching he continued his involvement with the sport as a television and radio football commentator.
