What are Parliamentary Handbooks?

Official sources providing information about members of Parliament include Parliamentary handbooks and the List of members (or similar titles) published by legislatures. In addition, most Parliamentary publications, e.g. Debates and Votes & Proceedings, usually list members.

The main unofficial retrospective biographical publication is Australian Parliaments: biographical notes, which covers most Parliaments. Each title in the series is called Biographical register of the [jurisdiction] Parliament [date] , e.g. Biographical register of the Commonwealth Parliament 1901-1972.

Current Members of Parliament are also usually listed in government directories.
