What are Budget Papers?

Budget Papers are published to accompany the annual Budget Speech of the Treasurer for each jurisdiction. They outline proposed government income and expenditure for the coming financial year, as proposed by the Appropriation Bill, and contain important economic, financial and taxation information. More recent Budget Papers are often issued as a series of booklets covering financial topics, with the addition of budget-related papers on wider social policies promoted through the budget.
