Gazettes - Australia (Commonwealth)
Commonwealth of Australia gazette. Periodic
1 Aug. 1977-
Periodic gazettes are published irregularly. These gazettes contain lengthy notices the gazettal of which is not an urgent requirement. Each issue is devoted to a single notice or to a related series of notices. Some of these are published regularly, for example, the annual lists of unclaimed moneys held by the trading banks and life insurance companies. From 1990, however, unclaimed money was listed in a separate publication, Do we have any of your money?.

Commonwealth of Australia gazette. Periodic is a Current Series of Gazettes - Australia (Commonwealth)
The Commonwealth of Australia gazette has been published since 1901. It was published weekly until 1973, although issues containing material requiring urgent gazettal could be published at any time. Issues were numbered sequentially, urgent issues taking the next number after the latest weekly issue.
In 1974 the Commonwealth of Australia gazette was divided into series. These series are bound separately. Up to this date the gazette was issued in one bound volume only.
The number and titles of the different series have varied since 1974.
Until the end of 1999, the Commonwealth Gazette also included ACT Public Service Employment Information (vacancies, appointments, etc).
