- Biography/History:

Artist. Sir Hans Heysen was born in Hamburg, Germany and migrated to Adelaide, South Australia with his family in 1884. He was an Australian artist well known for his watercolours of Australian gumtrees. He was also one of Australia's best known landscape painters, in particular through his depictions of the Flinders Ranges, and paintings of men and animals toiling in the Australian bush.
