This collection comprises material relating to Kate Webb's work as a war correspondent in Vietnam and foreign correspondent in Afghanistan, Cambodia, China, Tibet, Hong Kong, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Indonesia, Iraq, North Korea, South Korea, Juwait, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste and other countries. The material includes country files, notes, personal papers, correspondence, dispatches, articles written by Webb, drawings and sketches by Webb, newspaper clippings, interviews and photographs.

Kate Webb (24 March 1943 – 13 May 2007) was a New Zealand-born Australian war correspondent for United Press International (UPI) and Agence France-Presse, known for her work in Vietnam and Cambodia. In 1967, Webb travelled to South Vietnam to cover the escalating war. Whilst covering the Vietnam War, she earned a reputation for dogged and fearless reporting, and at one point she was held prisoner for weeks by North Vietnamese troops. After the war, she continued reporting as a foreign correspondent from global hot-spots including Iraq during the Gulf War.
