This collection comprises papers created by Kevin Bradley in various roles at the National Library of Australia (NLA) as well as papers collected during his time in roles external to the NLA. The material mostly relates to folk music in Australia and includes papers written by Bradley, draft publications, notes, correspondence, interview transcripts and photographs. Some material relates to Edgar Waters (scholar, folklorist, social historian), Ron Edwards (folklorist, artist, author), Dave de Hugard and the Sound Heritage Association (SHA).

Kevin Bradley has worked in the field of oral history, sound archiving and digital preservation for just over 25 years, primarily for the National Library of Australia (NLA). During this time, Bradley also held key positions in peak bodies and associations such as the International Association of Sound and Audio Visual Archives (IASA) and the Australasian Sound Recordings Association. He is also a past member of the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme, Sub-Committee on Technology, and National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) Steering Committee. As an expert in the preservation and digitisation of audio visual archival heritage material, Bradley has had significant input in the development of innovative approaches to preserving, and providing NLA's patrons access to it's significant collection of unique oral history and folklore recordings. In 2018, he was awarded the Public Service Medal for outstanding public service through the digital preservation of audio visual heritage material.
