Photograph depicting a group of men shearing sheep. Shearing is usually carried out in large property equipped sheds, as close as possible to where the flocks are pastured. The owner generally engages a contractor for his shearing, and it is the latter's responsibility to satff and operate the shed. The owner and his men keep the sheep gradually moving into the shed, count out and brand them after shearing, and return them to the paddocks.
