- Biography/History:

Journalist and writer. Harold Cedric (Peter) Hopegood was born in Essex, England, in 1891 and came to Australia in 1924. He worked on a pearling lugger and as a jackeroo before publishing his first book of verse, Austral Pan in 1932. Hopegood also wrote under the pseudonym of Peter Lecky. He died in Sydney in 1967.
