Four volumes typescript memoirs covering Harry Simon's childhood and schooling in Hamburgh, his period in the German Army and in a Russian prisoner of War camp, teaching in post war Hamburg and migration to Australia in 1957. Harry Simon was born in Hamburg, Germany. He was at Teacher Training College when he was called up in 1943. Served in the German Army, the Russian front. He was captured by the Russians at the end of the war and spent time in a camp as a 'Soldier of preparation'. In post war Hamburg he returned to teaching. In 1957 he migrated to Australia and finally settled in Adelaide. His wife and children joined him about 15 months later.
