MS 8976 principally comprises typescript and photocopied material, including a bound copy of Malcolm Goldfinch's "First lecture on commercial computers in Australia: the notes", and two articles first published in Rydges magazine, 1957. In addition, there are copies of three articles published in 1989-1993 about the UNIVAC company, a subsidiary of Sperry Rand, and developers of the first commercial computer. Also included is the speech presented to the Computer Museum Society, 1996, and summaries of Goldfinch's recent writings, together with a copy of his publication "It's-- VHStroika not Perestroika!" (1990).
The Acc04/253 instalment comprises five emails from Malcolm Goldfinch to Graeme Powell forwarding PDF versions of eight letters from Goldfinch to Powell and others re "Soldiers tell of phoney war" and other topics.
The Acc05/1 instalment consists of two DVDs labelled "Ayers Rock 1951 artist expedition" and "Faces of war, ABC documentary, Soldiers tell [of] phoney war".

Journalist and company director. Malcolm Goldfinch was employed as an aviation and motoring editor of the Sydney Sun between 1937 and 1946. Whilst National Manager for Remington Rand (Aust.), Goldfinch presented the first lecture on the topic of commercial computers in Australia. He was Chairman of TDK (Australia) and other Australian electrical companies. Since his retirement in 1985, Goldfinch has published a number of books on a broad range of subjects, some under the pen name Gilbert Buchanan.
