MS 1874 comprises messages from various organisations to Robert Gordon Menzies, Prime Minister, on the occasion of the Commonwealth Jubilee in 1951. There are also 243 signed loyalty pledges from the State High and Intermediate School for Girls, Maryborough, Queensland (1 folder, 1 packet). Included in the collection were items of Aboriginal arts and crafts transferred to the Pictures collection.

Prime minister. Robert Gordon Menzies was prime minister of Australia from 1939-1941 and 1949-1966. He was the Member of the House of Representatives for Kooyong, Victoria, between 1934 and 1966, and leader of the Federal Opposition from 1943-1949. Menzies was also the founder and longest serving leader of the Liberal Party of Australia.
