- See cover. Petra comprises of many tombs and past the Khazneh [or El Khazna] are the Royal Tombs. In all there are four of which one is the Urn Tomb, dating back to ca. 70 AD, this may have been the tomb of Malchus II who died at that time. A rare inscription inside one of the rooms indicates that it was converted into a church in 447 AD by Bishop Jason. The other three are the Silk Tomb and the Palace Tomb and the Corinthian Tomb.
