Howson speaks about his family background, education, and naval career. He entered federal politics in 1955 and was a member of the 1961 Parliamentary Select Committee on Voting Rights for Aboriginals. From 1971 to 1972, he was the Minister for the Environment, Aboriginals and the Arts. Howson speaks about the policy of separation, the Bringing Them Home Report, and his major achievements as the Commonwealth Minister responsible for Aboriginal affairs.
