Coppin, George Selth, 1819-1906, actor, politician and entrepreneur. Born in England. Went to Sydney in 1843 and was active in theatrical management until 1882 and in Victorian politics (as MLC & MLA, 1858-63) until the 1890s. Acquired theatres, hotels, and the Cremorne Garden in Richmond, Vic. Toured extensively, including USA and England.
