Biography documenting Colonel John Stanley's military career and the history and development of Australia's military forces from 1884-1911. 2. Brigadier J.C. Selmes, DSO, VD, mid. FICA: from gunner to brigadier: a study in tenacity (1995), 36 p. 3. Major-General Sir J.H. Bruche, KCB, CMG: Chief of the Australian General Staff, 1931-1935 (1994), 26 leaves. 4. Major Frederick William Ind, Royal Artillery, 1858-1887: a career of promise closed prematurely in the colony of Victoria (1994), 25 p. 5. Military reforms in the colony of New South Wales, 1893-1896: the work of the commandant, Major-General E.T.H. Hutton (1996), 48 p. 6. The Acc04.256 instalment comprises biographical and historical files on military personnel and units (6 boxes).
The Acc06.007 instalment comprises papers relating to military history, principally files on individual military officers and Australian military and administrative units. Files typically contain pamphlet publications and articles (originals and copies), newspaper cuttings and notes; some also include typescript articles/addresses by Perry, correspondence, memorabilia (souvenir programs, invitations) or photographs. There are also files on the Military Historical Society of Australia, 1965-1985, containing minutes, notices of meetings, newsletters and correspondence; book reviews by Perry and others, 1955-1987, and other miscellaneous files (7 boxes).
The Acc06.176 instalment includes papers relating to military history, principally research files on individual military officers from the Australian military and administrative units (although there are several files on German military officers). The files consist of correspondence, articles (original and copies), newspaper cuttings, handwritten and typed notes and photographs. There are also examples of research files on military events, including "The Second AIF in the War of 1939-1945", "The First AIF 1914-1918" and "The Gallipoli Campaign in 1915"; examples of articles by Perry, copies of The Australian Army journal (ca. 1950-1974) and other files (7 boxes).

The files themselves consist of typed and handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, journals and drafts of papers and essays, photocopies and miscellaneous correspondence (6 boxes).
The Acc07.142 instalment comprises research files on Australian military personnel including Sir Cyril Brudenell Bingham White, Field Marshal Sir Thomas Blamey and Alfred Bannin. There are also papers relating to the history of the 36th Australian Heavy Artillery Brigade, AIF. The files contain typed and handwritten notes, newsletter and newspaper clippings, journals and drafts of papers and essays, and correspondence (8 boxes).
The Acc08.166 instalment comprises research files, primarily relating to Australian military personnel, together with some academic and political figures, including Major General Sir Charles Rosenthal, Major General V.C.M. Sellheim, Major General Harry Finn, Major General H.D. Wynter, Brigadier General J.C. Selmes, Sir Frederick Shedden, Professor F.A. Bland and Professor R.H. Samuel. The files contain correspondence, research notes, drafts of writings, newspapers clippings and other printed material (20 boxes).
The Acc09.012 instalment includes notes, notebooks, drafts of writings, photographs, slides, negatives, cuttings and printed material. This material primarily relates to Perry's research on the Australian military and military personnel, as well as other topics such as republicanism, and various Australian political and academic figures (30 boxes).
The Acc09.073 instalment includes correspondence, diaries, notes, notebooks, drafts of writings, photographs, slides, negatives, cuttings, printed material and certificates. This material primarily relates to Perry's research on the Australian military and military personnel, as well as other topics of interest such as the School of Mines at Ballarat, and various Australian political and academic figures (34 boxes, 4 fol. boxes).
The Acc11.138 instalment comprises clippings and printed newspaper articles, including obituaries of Nancye and Warren Perry, publications by Warren Perry, travel documents, papers relating to an interview with David Horner, and papers relating to the Royal Historical Society Victoria and the Naval and Military Club (1 packet).

Public servant and military historian. Major Warren Perry, MBE, ED, Litt.D. (Melb.), MA (Melb.), BEc (Sydney), FRHSV, was an honorary member and federal president, 1964-1968, of the Military Historical Society of Australia.
