Microfilm includes: 1. Correspondence 1903-28 of A.S. Peake concerning his work in New Zealand. 2. Papers 1914-48 of Rev. Tom Dent relating to his work in New Zealand and Solomon Islands. 3. Journal 1818 of Methodist missionary Walter Lawry on a voyage to Sydney. 4. Minute books 1859-93 of Primitive Methodist Itinerant Preachers' Friendly Society of the yearly meeting referring to appointment of colonial agents in Australia and New Zealand. 5. Individual collections 1817-1933 comprising correspondence and other papers relating to the Society's work in Australia and New Zealand. They include letters of Rev. Thomas Adams, Rev. James Calvert, Rev. John Hunt, Rev. Walter Lawry, Rev. Samuel Leigh, Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Peter Turner.

The Centre was established at Epworth House, London, in 1961 to collect books and manuscripts relating to Methodism. It was transferred to Manchester in1977 but remains the property of the Methodist Church.
