MS Acc02.081 comprises records documenting the activities of the Institute of Cultural Affairs from its inception and dating from the 1960s to the 1990s (12 boxes, 65 cartons, 1 fol. box, 2 packages).
The Acc10.047 instalment comprises records kept by Institute of Cultural Affairs researcher Brian Stanfield, including files and course notes on numerous aspects of the ICA in Australia and abroad, such as the Declaration of the Spirit, technology of participation, social philosophy and social change; seminar papers for various religious and cultural studies courses facilitated by the ICA; Edges newsletters, magazines and research packets; biographical material on Joseph Wesley Mathews; and, history of the Order Ecumenical and various ephemera relating to its activities (4 boxes).

The Institute of Cultural Affairs Australia was formed in 1967 and is a private, non-profit organisation engaged in community development activities. It is committed to developing and facilitating participatory processes to enable change at the individual, organisational and community levels. It is a statutory member of ICA International, an association of 30 National Institutes of Cultural Affairs with more than 100 projects around the world.
