Jean Ashby was involved in the protest movement against the trial and conviction of Lindy and Michael Chamberlain for the alleged murder of their daughter Azaria. Ashby wrote letters of protest to federal and state parliamentarians and attended the Royal Commission of Enquiry into Chamberlain Convictions, 1987.
